Vigneti Massa Timorasso 'Piccolo Derthona' 2022 MSS-PIC22

HK$260.00

The Piccolo Derthona is Walter Massa's answer to the new wave of shorter production time Timorasso wines now being made in the Colli Tortonesi. Made from his younger vines with an average age of between 3 and 6 years, he still waits until the wine is ready before releasing it.

Crisp fruit, nuts, body and acidity combine to make this an excellent introduction to Timorasso as a variety. It could be had cold as a quaffing wine, but if left to warm just  a little bit the drinker will be rewarded with some honeyed notes, and glimpses of the depths of it's bigger brother, the Derthona.

Vigneti Massa

Five generations of the Massa family have laboured tirelessly to keep the Timorasso grape from extinction on the steep hills east of the city Tortona. Timorasso grape is an ancient, endangered variety, which is also very difficult to grow and comes with a small yield.
